how-to-update-your-denim-button-up

This outfit is the perfect example of how to update an old, tired, boring, button up. I know because I experienced it first hand. Originally when I put on this shirt, in the underground bathroom of a park in Downtown LA mind you, I had it buttoned up and tucked in. I kept telling Anna I wasn’t feeling it for some reason and was playing around with different ways to wear it. I tied it up to make it a crop, buttoned it up all the way, and finally gave up and told her to get a few shots just to have because I didn’t want to do a post on it. I loved each piece and got them for a reason but the look just didn’t feel me. Then, in the middle of shooting, it dawned on me: I remembered a street style trend I had been seeing and gave it a whirl. I unbuttoned my shirt all the way and tucked the ends into the skirt on their opposite side. This created the sexy off the shoulder look we’ve all been loving along with a good deep-v annnnd peek at my lace bralette. The simplest little action created the most refreshing take on a basic and revived what was once going to be a long lost outfit you would have never see. Crazy what a little creativity can do. Shop the look below and recreate with some of those old shirts in your closet. XOXO
