With a festival and two outdoor concerts already under my belt this season (and several more to come) I thought it was about time to let you guys in on my outdoor concert/festival advice: what to wear, what to bring, and how to think ahead. When planning for a concert you obviously want to know what the weather is going to be like so you can dress accordingly. Since the majority of the concerts I will be attending will be hot enough to fry an egg on my exposed tummy I will most likely opt for a crop top and denim shorts (surprise, surprise) but one thing you might not think about is the down time between concerts or when you just want to sit in a grassy knoll and enjoy the “chiller” music….
We all know I love bell bottoms but when we add an amazing print with the comfiest material you can basically guarantee I’ll be obsessed. I wanted to show an alternative way to wear the bells (we generally see them paired with Novella’s Muse tank like I did here) so you guys can see how versatile they can be. I’ve also worn them with a crop top (surprise, surprise) and a big statement necklace to go out….
Though they can sometimes require upkeep, (if you consider using a steamer work) linen shorts are a summer staple. By pairing them with a cut off tank you create a cool look that’s contradictory but also refreshingly new. You can only wear denim shorts and cut off tanks so many days in a row… (completely directed at myself)
If you remember my Best of Coachella 2014 post you probably recognize this amazing Novella Royale skirt, the one I told you I was going to buy…, well anyway I bought the set and each piece is even more amazing than I had imagined….
Not only is this top a phenomenal price it combines two of my favorite styles, AND reminds me of the amazing Alexander Wang top I’ve been lusting over. I love the femininity of the style but, being me, I couldn’t commit to a fully feminine look so I paired it with my go-to boyfriend jeans and some pumps to make me look a little less frumpy. Recreate the look by shopping below:
Since I’m a shorty (small torso, short legs) rompers tend to make me look like a giant baby with a saggy diaper so it’s key I wear something to break it up. In this case (and most cases lately) instead of a belt I opted for a denim shirt around my waist to add some grunge to a very girly, floral ensemble….
Steering away from all the 90’s talk this week let’s talk about my favorite trend from the 70’s that’s alive and kickin’: the bell bottom. I got my first pair of bell bottoms my freshman year of college and after discovering they elongate my short ass legs I’ve been a fan ever since. Shop all the different washes, brands, and styles below. I promise this won’t be a purchase you regret….
