Last Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting shoe designer Sam Edelman at the Nordstrom in NorthPark. He was a hoot and was also very complimentary towards me which obviously made me feel really cool… I had a drink, a few appetizers, and picked up a couple pairs of shoes from his spring collection. I tried on several pairs (as you can see below) including some from the new line he has launched called Circus….
Well it’s officially spring, the season we get to eat every meal comfortably on a patio with the cold alcoholic beverage of our choice. This also means we can start to whip out our warm weather favorites we’ve been dying to wear all winter. For me, this would include my collection of cut-off tanks. While the weather is still straddling both seasons I like to get creative and mix them with some of my winter favorites like my 7 For All Mankind Leather pants and green suede Balenciaga bag then throw my Polo denim shirt around my waist to tie it all together….
The high-low trend is baaaack- or perhaps it never left considering I bought this Brandy Melville number a mere 2 years ago in SOHO. To some this would be considered practically “vintage” *hairflip* me: *rolls eyes* but, I like to pride myself on my ability to predict what will stay trendy for years and what gets put on the “worst dressed list” next season. That way I know what to splurge on, what to keep around season after season, and what to buy at more affordable places like Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Nasty Gal, Anthropologie and ASOS (who always just so happens to be having a sale at the moment btw!)
The weather is finally warming up meaning, I can mix a few winter pieces with some warmer weather ones (my fav thing to do). On top of this I mixed an Isabel Marant Pour H&M lace top (Similar: Goodnight Macaroon and another by Goodnight Macaroon) with my leather shorts (Similar: Topshop, ASOS, Patterson J. Kincaid) for an edgy yet feminine look. I paired these with my Gucci sunnies, Furla bag, Jeffrey Campbell shoes and some Miley buns to keep it interesting….
My love for crop tops and turbans is no secret but add a good pair of wide leg pants in a cool pattern and I’m feelin like Brigitte Bardot in her prime. Outfits like this are so easy to put together when you have a busy piece because you can just throw on a bunch of basics with it. I found some amazing printed pants similar to the Anthropologie ones I’m wearing in several different brands and price ranges….
The best part of this time of the year in Dallas is being able to throw on a cool scarf with a T and cute booties. Today, I’m wearing my favorite version of this simple ensemble with a Missoni infinity scarf I found on sale (whoop whoop), a Paige Of Style necklace and cuff, 7 For All Mankind jeans, Tom Ford sunnies, Jeffrey Campbell fringe booties (Similar: Sam Edelman), and my trusty Proenza Schouler PS1 bag….
One of my favorite things about starting this blog has been discovering new brands and designers and getting to help support them by spreading the word on their products. Graduating with a degree in Entrepreneurship as well as my experience as a business consultant gives me an appreciation for these small business owners pursing their passion and I love that I can help grow their business in some small way. I love this outfit because it mixes a little bit of my old favorites with some new brands I’ve been introduced to….
