Day 1 of my very first New York Fashion week wearing my favorite army jacket and new cord mini skirt. I’m obsessed with light pink as a neutral and you’ve already heard me talk about how much I love hunter green for the same reason… I think I want my next bag to be one of the two colors. I always try to splurge on things that will last me forever and it usually results in me sticking to black and brown accessories so I think it’s time to switch things up. But anyway I digress…
Getting dressed for fashion week shenanigans was honestly so dreamy to me. You can come up with the whatever look you want and not worry about anything being “too much”, my only concern was when I looked too plain. This look was obviously fairly normal for me but I was still trying to get a feel for the vibes so take it for what it’s worth as a fashion week ensemble. These pics were shot after the Desigual show, which we were running a little late for and ended up not getting to go to our seats. We got standing room in the back so I still got to see the show and experience all of the energy, just not as close. Standing room is very normal when starting out so I don’t mind it; ya gotta start somewhere. The show was so high energy and fun and I loved finally getting to experience life behind the camera outside of the show. You see all these pictures all over and have an idea of what it’s like so when you get to live it it’s very interesting. It was crazy to look one way and see Bill Cunningham and the other to see every Bachelorette, ever. I felt like I was in a daze all week just trying to take everything in and act like it was normal that there were photographers following you closely as you walk down the street AKA what bloggers dreams are made of. To me it was pretty much everything I thought it would be. I honestly loved it and it made me that much more motivated to get to where I know this blog can go. That being said I am aware how silly all of it must seem to outsiders and that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but to me the experiences and the networking I did were magical and I can’t wait for the next one.
After the show we headed to another presentation then a cruise on the Hudson with GiGi. We had the most amazing view of the city at night and went right next to the statue of liberty. I actually chatted with Kristen from housewives for a few hours at the party about blogging (among other things). It’s funny who you find yourself connecting with but that’s the fun of it all to me. Shop my day 1 look below and stay tuned for more from fashion week. XOXO
