Last week I ventured to Miami to experience Art Basel. I had never been to Miami and two of my friends had just moved there so I decided to kill three birds with one stone and see what all the talk was about. I stayed with my friend Sydney and convinced my friend Payton to come along because she had a friend there too. I didn’t know what to expect so it was good to have a friend and a blog bud to go to the events with.
The first few days we went to a bunch of the parties we were invited to. Most were at The Edition and The W so it was cool to get to see those and other cool venues in South Beach, have a few cocktails, and mingle. After a few days and nights of party hopping we decided to concentrate more on seeing the art and Miami. This meant not staying out until 6am with the rest of the city which was fine by us. We went to LIV and I have never hated anything more. Don’t get me wrong I like to go out but the Vegas nightlifey thing is not my scene. I’d rather go to a lounge or even better, drink all day, go to a boozy dinner, and go home and pass out. That way you sleep through the hangover and wake up ready to take on the next day. But that’s not why we’re here so I digress… In terms of art we wandered Wynwood(so cute), went to Design Miami, Scope, and PAMM. We skipped out on the actual convention center because we heard it was a little bit of a disappointment and I didn’t get to go to PULSE but there’s always next year!
The dreamiest two days were the last when we spent them at the museums in the morning and then spent the rest of the day at the Soho Beach House. Coolest Soho House. Not only do they have 2 pools, they have beach access and set up a dreamy little beach oasis specifically for Basel. Every table was cuter than the next. We were literally sitting on cute ass pillows on the beach getting served rose’. I dream of this. Every time we go to the beach here in LA we talk about how the only thing that could make it better was a waiter. (I know, rough life, but whats better than being waited on!?) Not only did that dream become a reality but it was in the most amazing setup. Plus we had a few Kendall Jenner ASAP Rocky spottings so that didn’t hurt either. I just can’t even begin to describe how relaxed and content we were there. Long story short, Miami and Art Basel did not dissapoint. Most fun I’ve had in a long time.
