What an eye opening couple of weeks. Thankful to have been able to experience these peaceful protests and walk away with more truth, knowledge, and faith in humanity than before (except for the yuckos out there. U know who u are. Or maybe u don’t, but u will). We can only hope that those more closely affected agree and feel even the slightest bit of peace and hope for a brighter future.
Although we’re just getting started, as we continue about our everyday lives I just wanted to post a little something to assure my commitment to change and to hopefully encourage the same. I love you. I see you. I hear you. #blacklivesmatter (I’ll continue adding ways to support to my BLM highlight) 💙...
The only thing giving me even the slightest bit of comfort through out all of this is knowing that I will have the ability to end racism in my home. That I will bring children into this world that won’t be able to fathom the thought of their black friends being treated any differently no matter the situation. And that this anger and frustration and sadness everyone is feeling right now will be the catalyst to spark the drastic changes we need in this world. Racism ends with us. It has to. We can’t bring back all of the lives we’ve lost in this disgusting and unfair manor but we can make sure that their lives save others....
