Last month my best friend and I spent a week in the magical city of Nevis, West Indies. If you haven’t heard of it don’t worry I hadn’t either. It’s a short boat ride away from St. Kitts (where we flew into) and I personally think one of the best hidden gems in the Caribbean. Before we know it it’ll be on a season of The Bachelor, so go while it’s still semi-undiscovered. The whole island is full of every different kind of greenery and plant and all the while theres a beautiful volcano sitting in the distance. A photo and plant lovers dream. But it didn’t stop at there. The people were so friendly and the food. OMG. We got so lucky having two of our friends honeymoon there the week before so we had detailed recommendations for everything. This allowed us to waste no time with research and trial and error and go straight to the good stuff. When we weren’t chillin beach or poolside at the Four Seasons here’s where you could find us:
Banana’s Bistro – My favorite. The best food (get the lobster dip and chicken pot pie) and an even better ambiance. They have an amazing deck up top where you can watch the sunset and have some cocktails before diner.
Montpelier Plantation – This is the hotel Princess Diana fled to with her sons after her divorce. That alone tells you it’s special but they couldn’t stop their. They had to add an amazing restaurant so everyone could experience the place. Oh and the best part of the dinner? The free apps they passed out while we waited to be seated.
Golden Rock or “the rocks” – This is also a hotel that you can experience through their restaurant. I recommend going during the day because it is smack dab in the middle of the jungle and it was so cool to walk around. I won’t even begin to go into their furnishings because that was a whole other experience.
Turtle Time – A little bar just off the beach amongst 3 others. This is where you would go to mingle with the locals and get a good feel for the lifestyle. Great food, drinks, and music.
