Suede Shorts

04.21.14

Going along with my “keep things interesting” mantra I like to wear fabrics that could be considered “inappropriate” for the current season to those who like to follow the rules of fashion. So when I saw these H&M Suede Shorts I obviously had to buy them and challenge myself to style them in a weather appropriate way. Cue my go-to summer basic: the crop top. Since the shorts are a statement in themselves I went simple with the rest of the outfit and wore my silver body chain underneath the top and threw on a basic black hat….

Red Leatha

04.15.14

I normally steer clear of the color red for some reason, I don’t know if its because I fear it coming off as tacky or I just prefer softer more neutral colors but either way the red section in my color coordinated closet is minimal. But, when I saw these Isabel Marant pour H&M red leather pants I snagged them before anyone else could even get a glimpse of them and have sort of found a new appreciation for the color red. …

“All You Need Is A Light Jacket”

04.11.14

This has been my go-to jacket since I bought it, which was sadly just two week ago. I use the word sadly because I’m realizing how many times I’ve worn it in such a short period of time but it’s the perfect thing to throw on since the weather is still straddling seasons. Really, “all you need is a light jacket.” This outfit is kind of the epitome of what I’ve been throwing together lately; between the crop top, the Urban Outfitters hat, the elastic leather shorts, and these Circus by Sam Edelman flats I’m one effortlessly comfy girl….

Kimono Kraze

04.07.14

Kimonos are easily one of my favorite things on the planet and my closet can confirm. They are effortless. I love how by throwing one on you easily make a basic outfit very exciting (that is what I shoot for when getting dressed after all) while still having a laid back feel. I got this Band of Gypsies Kimono from Urban Outfitters and was a little too excited about the price considering how much I’ve previously paid for a Kimono(although I regret none of them)….

Biker Babe

04.04.14

I’m loving the drop hem on dresses these days, idk if its because it gives the illusion that my short torso is as long as a normal human beings or what but I find the style very subtle yet still very interesting and fashionable. Since I’m not the girly-est of girls I paired this dress with my leather jacket and combat boots to make it my own. Shop the links below to recreate this look!…

Tysa Designs

04.02.14

Tysa Designs sent me this AMAZING dress recently and I couldn’t be more obsessed. Between the amazing print, the low back that shows a little sideboob and adds the perfect amount of sexiness, and the convenient pockets I can already tell I am going to be getting plenty of use out of it during these spring and summer months (along with my roommates who have already called dibs). Shop the dress and the rest of my outfit through the links below and check out their site to see what else they have to offer!…

Sam Edelman Event

04.01.14

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting shoe designer Sam Edelman at the Nordstrom in NorthPark. He was a hoot and was also very complimentary towards me which obviously made me feel really cool… I had a drink, a few appetizers, and picked up a couple pairs of shoes from his spring collection. I tried on several pairs (as you can see below) including some from the new line he has launched called Circus….

Cut Offs & Leather Pants

03.24.14

Well it’s officially spring, the season we get to eat every meal comfortably on a patio with the cold alcoholic beverage of our choice. This also means we can start to whip out our warm weather favorites we’ve been dying to wear all winter. For me, this would include my collection of cut-off tanks. While the weather is still straddling both seasons I like to get creative and mix them with some of my winter favorites like my 7 For All Mankind Leather pants and green suede Balenciaga bag then throw my Polo denim shirt around my waist to tie it all together….

High-Low Hem

03.19.14

IMG_6932

The high-low trend is baaaack- or perhaps it never left considering I bought this Brandy Melville number a mere 2 years ago in SOHO. To some this would be considered practically “vintage” *hairflip* me: *rolls eyes*  but, I like to pride myself on my ability to predict what will stay trendy for years and what gets put on the “worst dressed list” next season. That way I know what to splurge on, what to keep around season after season, and what to buy at more affordable places like Urban OutfittersTopshopNasty GalAnthropologie and ASOS (who always just so happens to be having a sale at the moment btw!)

Lace & Leatha

03.10.14

The weather is finally warming up meaning, I can mix a few winter pieces with some warmer weather ones (my fav thing to do). On top of this I  mixed an Isabel Marant Pour H&M lace top (Similar: Goodnight Macaroon and another by Goodnight Macaroon) with my leather shorts (Similar: TopshopASOSPatterson J. Kincaid) for an edgy yet feminine look. I paired these with my Gucci sunnies, Furla bagJeffrey Campbell shoes and some Miley buns to keep it interesting….
